A species of cat never before seen in the mountains of Nepal, the Pallas's Cat, has been spotted by researchers studying snow leopards.  The feline, about the size of a house cat, was seen eleven times on the feed of various camera traps between 2012 and 2013.  After close examination the researchers determined the elusive feline to be a Pallas's Cat from it's characteristic stocky posture.  The species is typically found in the montane steppe regions of Central Asia so seeing them in areas up to 15,000 feet above sea level was not surprising;  seeing them in Nepal, however, was.  This population could be a subspecies of Pallas's which has managed to go unseen by humans or could be a new population which migrated over from a neighboring population, such as the one found on the Tibetan Plateau.  To determine if this population is a unique subspecies or just a copy cat, research on the Nepal population and it's neighbors will have to be conducted.  (Dibs!)
