Throwback Third Thursday - February 2014

Most people don't know this about me but... I got married.  Yup.  I married a handsome Zulu gentleman named Makenna when I was in South Africa.  He wooed me.  We had a traditional Zulu ceremony.  I sat on a throne.  I even got a crown.  This Throwback Third Thursday (#tbtt) is about when I became a Pretty Pretty African Princess.

The year was 2003 and our tour guide at the Lesedi Cultural Experience had taken an instant liking to me.  There was innocent flirtation and lots of saucy winks in my direction during the tour.  When it came time to demonstrate  the marriage ceremony in the Zulu village, he didn't even ask for a volunteer.  He swept me up to the front of the group and the before I knew it, we were married and, hand in hand, we walked off to the next village.  Romantic ain't it!
