A Blue Moon is not just a beer. It's the second full moon in a month. It's relatively rare, happening only about every two and a half years. There is a full moon on Halloween every 19 years or so BUT not all time zones. A full moon on Halloween for everyone? That hasn't happened since 1944*! I hope you all had a chance to go outside to marvel in it's glory. If not, here are some photos I took this evening. *Disappointingly, this little bit of trivia makes Hocus Pocus inaccurate because there wasn't a full moon on Halloween in 1993, which was needed to bring the Sanderson Sisters back to life. One All Hallows' Eve, when the moon is around So, for the love of 2020, if you're a virgin, DO NOT LIGHT A BLACK CANDLE TONIGHT! Thank you.

Now, to celebrate Twelfth Night, the eve of Epiphany, correctly you'll need a cake, a bean and a king (very similar to the King Cake of Marti Gras). This morning I am getting an epidural steroid injection so I won't be celebrating this year but now that I know so much, maybe next year!
Thanks for playing!!!! my true love gave to me:
my true love gave to me:MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! For the next 12 days, I will be going through the 12 Day of Christmas, a tradition celebrated in Europe since the middle ages. We all know the song, but I bet most of us have no idea what those 12 days actually are. No, it's not just a song about someone frivilously purchasing their true love gifts for 12 days, it's a series of Christian celebrations leading up to the Twelfth Night (a party making the end of medieval "winter" (All Hallow's Eve to Twelfth Night), not the comedy by William Shakespeare - although the play was likely written as entertainment for said celebration). So, without further adieu... On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me:I have had some pretty memorable costumes throughout the years but this was my first, but not my last, group themed Halloween. This Throwback Third Thursday (#tbtt) is for when 8th grade Caitlin and crew were our own alternative version of Rainbow Brite and the Color Kids!!! We were so cool.
This year I decided to do an on-line advent calendar! Check in each day and click on the square that has that day's date and you'll be provided with some holiday themed enjoyment! Click on Advent Calendar on the navigation menu, click the link to the right or click on the picture below to be redirected to the advent calendar. Happy Holidays!Thanksgiving is exactly one week away so this Throwback Third Thursday (#tbtt) I'm giving a shout out to the family I will be spending Thanksgiving with and that I am ever so thankful for! I am who I am because of their loving insanity. They are the best! I haven't gotten to go home for Thanksgiving since I moved to Texas. This year, late November is not only Thanksgiving but also my nephew's 1st birthday and my dad's 60th birthday. I have had enough FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) over the past 3+ years that I was not going to miss milestones like these. So even though I'll be turning around to come home for Christmas less than a month later (the usual reason I don't come home for Thanksgiving), this year I will be making the trip to spend a long weekend with the Currys celebrating. ![]() Yosemite - Early 80's From Right: Dad (Peter), Mom (Cathy), Uncles Chris, Matt, Eddie, Aunt Katie, and finally, Uncle Tim not pictured - the aunt & uncles' lovely partners in crime but for whom I am just as thankful for: Mary, Kathy, Denny, Jim, and finally, Peggy. oh...and we can't forget all the minions: Erin, Greg & Nolan, Callie & Tyler, Emily & Sam, Alex & Jeff, Megan, Annie, Sam & Derek, Carleen and Miranda And most importantly: Grandma and Grandpa I’m very happy about my new Turkey friend. He sums up the season pretty well. I am thankful for the ample hours of entertainment football provides in the fall after all. TOUCHDOWN!!!
This is a great year for movies! Multiple Marvels, Jurassic World and Star Wars! Nerd heaven!
