During our whirlwind, 3 day home finding process we saw everything from gorgeous remodels to a Property Brother’s dream home to a litterbox disguised as a house (the smell was seriously disgusting). It was after the major disappointment of finding out the home I wanted to put an offer on had gone under contract while we were making our way back to the office to someone paying cash and closing in 11 days (I mean, come one, I can’t compete with that!) that my wonderful real estate team rushed into action to find me another perfect home. It turned out be one of their own listings whose price was just reduced into my price range. And, I knew it was going to be perfect when I walked in to leopard print wallpaper in the foyer! A lot of the homes we looked at were more space than I would ever need but this 1585 sq ft, open concept 3 br/2 bath house on 0.2 acres is going to be perfect for Paughey and me with plenty of room for all of you visitors!
Now… to decorate!!!
The last week has been quite a life changing adventure. My parents and I traveled out to College Station/Bryan, Texas in search of my first home and… WE FOUND IT! Currently we are going through the post inspection negotiations but everything has been going quite smoothly thus far.
Viewing the Partial Eclipse 20 May 2012
A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to view a partial solar eclipse but, on June 5th, the even more elusive Transit of Venus , another type of eclipse which occurs when Venus passes directly between the Sun and Earth, will be gracing us with its presence. The earth, moon and sun align approximately every 18 years, 10 days, and 8 hours according to Babylonian astronomers who watched eclipses over a 2500 year period, however, seeing some type of solar eclipse is far more common. We experience a partial, annular, hybrid or total eclipse about every 2 years or so (read more about it here). The Transit of Venus is much rarer. Watch this video to find out why we aren’t going to see another Transit of Venus until 2117 even though we saw one in 2004.
Missed the Partial Eclipse and the Transit of Venus? It’s okay. Below is the list of predicted eclipses for 2009-2015. You still have one more chance to see an eclipse this year if you're in Australia or South America.
I am a biologist and my life is crap!
